Capturing the mundane to create interesting stories

Shanghai Street: Tour Group

A group of tourists, led by the guy with flag

What is your preferred travel style: alone, in a group, or with a tour group?

I personally  prefer to travel “alone”. And by alone, I mean with my wife.

I don’t like to travel with group of people as more heads means more interests. More interests mean more opinions. More opinions mean headache.

Who’s watching who here?

I don’t like to travel with a tour group mainly because it tends to become a touch-and-go kind of experience. You try to packed a lot of destinations within such limited time. Before you know, you only move from point A to point B, to point C with no time to appreciate what the points are all about.

I prefer to go with my own pace, although it may means I have less coverage.

Tour group does have benefits, though. Tour group may provide you access or exposure to places you may not aware — or only going to the good places, as the tour guide already filtered the non-essentials.

End of the tour… group photo!

In the end, it depends on your personal preference.

So, how about you? What would you prefer?
