Walkway of Empty Complex

Sunday afternoon; closed shops; empty complex

I found it interesting that most of the shops here, in Singapore, closed on Sundays. I’m referring to small shops. The big shopping malls are still operating, packed with tourists and local customers.

I understand that the shopkeepers or the staffs need holidays and days off.

But, I think Sunday is when most customers have the time to shop. Isn’t it counterproductive to close down the business? It’s like intentionally avoiding the market.

Perhaps Monday may be more suitable for rest.

But, what do I know?… I have never own a shop. I know very little on how to run business :-).

Perhaps someone can enlighten me?
