The gesture said it all…

I wonder how the waving gesture originated… How can it be universal?

    • Thanks, Helder.
I will try to find some explanation — once I have some free time :D… Maybe this weekend.

  3. Love the shot… I’ve noticed many gestures are universal- eg, the ones for food and water, babies cry for milk-universally, even the word for mother is similar in many languages.. I guess its all about survival…. :)

    • Survival? Humm… could you care to elaborate more, Georgie?

      • I think every human is built for survival- like I said, the world over, babies cry for milk…. got it? So gestures and language have evolved towards the sole purpose of survival… Thus, the universality of gestures or language..

        • I can relate with babies cry for milk, or laughter to be universal laughter… but I still can’t relate how waving goodbye can be universal — or is it not universal? Maybe the gesture isn’t waving in some countries?
