Anpanman

Anpanman kid, with Anpanman sling bag

It seems like Anpanman is the most popular fictional character for Japanese kids since long time ago. However, I never heard of Anpanman when I was a kid. I don’t associate Japan with Anpanman.

I always associate Japan with Doraemon — another famous fictional character from Japan — perhaps because I saw it on TV. The show was (or still is?) aired every Sunday, 8AM. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid.

My question to you (who are not Japanese nor Indonesian), have you ever heard of Anpanman and Doraemon before?

So, since you didn’t know Anpanman (nor Doraemon, I assume), who do you watch when you were a kid, Christakis?

    • So, when you visit Tokyo, you might want to visit the Ghibli museum. My friends told me that it was interesting. I never been there myself.
