Imperfection

Patched

Side Story:

Sometimes I feel somewhat like a pervert when I post a photo like this — exposing and exploiting woman. I may feel that because I’m a man.

That was definitely not my intention (to be a pervert), and am a little worried about what others would think if I take and post this kind of photo.

Well, am I a pervert?

when you’re observing the imperfection of an engine, then you’re an engineer.
when you’re thoroughly reading a train schedule book, then you’re unemployed.
    when you’re exposing and exploiting a girl’s thigh, well…

    • So, basically you are saying I’m an unemployed engineer who is also a pervert. Okay :D.

        :))

  2. You’re not a pervert. I think the line between observation and exploitation can sometimes be very fine, but this doesn’t cross it.

    • Thanks for the response, Mike. I’m glad that you would think so :-)…

    nice shot! :)

it is very likely that you “might” be a p*rv*rt…

but at least, good to know that you are not one of those bunch of hypocrites.

    lol.

    • Then maybe I should just keep this kind of photo to myself, so that nobody will ever know that I’m a pervert… muahahaha… *evil laugh.

  4. What urged you to take the picture was the plaster. Not the legs. Not guilty!

    August 19, 2011 at 00:46

    • Hahaha… thank you for the confirmation, Christakis :D…

  5. I like it, and add a vote for the ‘no’ camp. If taking shots of women (or parts thereof) made a photographer a pervert, there wouldn’t be much left for street photographers would there? Obviously shooting up a skirt or the like would be different, but this is well short of that.

    • Thanks for the thoughts, David.
So, everything that’s on public display (nothing like up-skirt and the like), should not be considered as ‘pervert’, right? :D

  6. I like both Chris’ and David’s reason.

But really, when I saw the post title and the picture, I thought “funny.” And I think you made a good decision of not shooting the face (don’t know if it’s intentional or not).

    • Finally, a woman’s point of view :-)… thank you for the thoughts, Jenn. I’m glad.
the ‘faceless’ shot was intentional. I’m not always comfortable in publishing stranger’s face — well, unless the face was the focal point.

  7. You’re welcome :).

The bandage is the focal point. And the footwear. I’m amazed by the footwear & stocking combo. That’s not something I’ve seen before!

    August 22, 2011 at 11:29

    • I think the footwear & stocking combo is quite common here — lots of people were high-heels and stocking; or even long socks. I’m not a fashion expert, but I have to say that most people in Japan are very stylist… including the men :D…

  8. I’m a little sad that you are (might be) leaving Japan. Where else am I gonna get this exposure about Japanese fashion?

    August 22, 2011 at 11:30

    • Well, if everything is according to the schedule, I still have about 8 months to go — so, you can still see some autumn, winter and spring collection haha…

After that, perhaps I can interest you with fashion from wherever-I-may-be? :D…

*although I have to emphasize that I’m not a fashion photographer hahaha…

      August 22, 2011 at 11:43

      • Oh 8 months still. Good :).

And yes will continue to follow your “fashion” journey LOL.

  9. :) Is the question to make you feel better? :P
No, I don’t think you’re a pervert. It’s not your fault that we (men) do find women a wonderful subject for photos :P

    August 22, 2011 at 17:59

    • I was looking for support to justify my action :D
You are not saying it’s women’s fault, right? hehehe… just kidding.

      August 22, 2011 at 18:40

      • Not at all… it’s Adam and Eve’s fault. :P :)))

        August 22, 2011 at 19:02

        • Hahahaha… :D
