Mount Fuji: Going Down

S-Fuji-6-Going-down-DSC 9747-martosc

The long walk home; it’s actually harder than the climbing

When you were climbing, you have a goal. You are pumped to reach it.

After that, it’s anti-climax. You then walked back home just for the sake of it.

You walk home because you have to, not because you want to.

Why can’t it be like a movie — where it’s over right after the climax and the happy ending?

After 8 hours up, you still have to do 5 hours down.

But, in the end, it was all worthy. It’s an achievement for us and the view was breathtaking (although I don’t have good pictures to show).

I’m glad we did this.

This may be our last summer in Japan, so this could be our last opportunity to climb Mount Fuji.

Although it was not perfect; but we did it :-).

Anyway, this post will end the Mount Fuji series. Hope you enjoyed it.

  1. Well at least going down you know that you’ve achieved your goal already. It’s an easy ride from there on :-)

    • It’s true, Helder. But I got bored after one hour :D… it’s probably because I was hungry, though :D…

  5. It would be great if it’s like the movie, you get to the top, and then they beam you down. Hang on, I think that’s a different movie LOL.

Beautiful photo, GM. Love the tone, and all that mountain in the background.

    • Haha! … Yes, that would be great :D…and, in the movie, I will have a stunt-double who will do the climbing. I will just be the cool actor at the top :P…
Thanks, Jenn. The view was breathtaking — this photo didn’t do justice to the beautiful sight.
