Capturing the mundane to create interesting stories

All Aboard!

“Doors are closed, we are good to go!”

When I was a kid, I wished to be a train machinist.

One of the reasons is because train is so cool!

Now? Not so much.

Not because I now think train machinist is a boring job, or train is not so cool anymore.

I still think highly of them.

It’s because I don’t believe I have enough attention-span to run that massive thing.

It’s hard work and requires full attention and super focus. Don’t forget that the passengers’ lives are in your hand. People’s lives may be at stake if you lack of focus for just a split of second.

I admire those who have the ability to become good train machinist.

  1. I like the contrast between grey and red.
Also there’s a sensation of driving force between the platform and the train and the eye meets in the middle.. is it just me? :)

    • Well, the track in this station isn’t flat or parallel with the horizon; perhaps that explains the ‘driving force’ that you see?

      • You’re right but I kinda like it. :)

  2. Very nice framing on this one. Seems very quiet for Japan though which makes it slightly surreal.

    • This is only minor station, and not in rush-hour. That might explain the quietness :D.
